Man Faces Manslaughter Charge After Fatal Crash on I-275
A man is behind bars after a crash leaves another man dead.
Vasile Luca, 22, is being held at the Kenton County Detention Center on $100,000 bond. He is the driver that caused a fatal accident on I-275, according to Erlanger Police. A tractor trailer collided with a small passenger vehicle - but Luca was not the driver of either. It was not yet revealed why police believe Luca caused the crash on Thursday evening.
The smaller car was wedged under the larger truck, and driver Nadew Woldemichael, 24, later died of his injuries. Three passengers in Woldemichael's Saturn were expected to recover from their injuries.
Luca is charged with second degree manslaughter, second degree assault, fourth degree assault, and first degree criminal mischief. He is scheduled to appear in Kenton District Court on Thursday, August 11, at 1:30 p.m.
