Two Win Prize Money for "How I See Dayton" Videos

Members of the community were asked, how do you see Dayton?

Councilman Joe Neary was awarded a "nano-grant" from the Center for Great Neighborhoods and Skyward, which designated such grants for Dayton, Florence, and Pendleton County this year. The program will expand to other communities next year.

Neary's proposal was to have creative civic boosters submit videos on how they see Dayton, and he would use the $250 grant to award two $125 prizes.

At Tuesday night's city council meeting, two big stacks of fresh one dollar bills were handed by Neary to Derek Daley and Cam Miller.

Neary said the project also allows the City of Dayton to use the films for promotion purposes.

"The two winning videos accomplished the project goals, and even exceeded my expectations," Neary said. "For current Dayton residents, they make us even prouder of our city all around us. For those Looking at Dayton from the outside, they show why we love our little city."
