Travel + Leisure: Cincinnati, Hotel Covington Among Best 50 Places to Travel in 2017
Another week, another shout out for Cincinnati and Covington in a national magazine.
Last week, Vogue called out the neighboring cities as among 5 that are making America's Rust Belt shine again.
This week, Travel + Leisure weighs in with its list of the 50 best places to travel in 2017.
The new article offers up details about the Queen City's revival, particularly in Over-the-Rhine, and also pointed out:
Locals zip across state lines on a daily basis, and the best new place to bed down is actually a 10-minute drive across the river in Covington, Kentucky. The boutique Hotel Covington occupies the former headquarters of Coppin’s Department Store, and the original 1907 architecture serves its new purpose beautifully: upon entering, you get a sweeping view of reception, the lobby, and the bar with its 20-foot ceilings, thanks to a sloping floor originally designed to let shoppers see the entire department store when they walked through its Madison Avenue doors.
The piece goes on to highlight the burgeoning Hollywood film scene in Cincinnati and references the Collin Farrell and Nicole Kidman sightings that happened recently when the pair was on both sides of the Ohio River shooting a movie here.
