St. Henry Senior Wins City of Erlanger Scholarship

The City of Erlanger announced the winner of its annual scholarship this week.
St. Henry High School senior Olivia Beechem was chosen from the sixteen applicants for the $1,500 prize. The Erlanger resident plans to attend Bellarmine University in Louisville in the fall where she will major in accounting.
“I am very honored to receive this scholarship,” said Beechem, in a news release. “I greatly appreciate this money as I plan for the future and pursue my dreams to become a Certified Public Accountant. This means so much to me, especially because I have lived in the city of Erlanger my entire life.”
“The City of Erlanger Scholarship is a perfect reward for all of her hard work and determination as she prepares for her college career and life as a CPA,” said St. Henry Math Teacher Tiffany Reding. “I believe she will undoubtedly continue to find ways to give back to her community throughout college and beyond.”
The award will be presented to Beechem during the May 2 city council meeting at 7:00 p.m. at the Erlanger Municipal Building, 505 Commonwealth Avenue.
"Congratulations to Olivia. This scholarship is a unique benefit for Erlanger residents who are high school seniors,” said Erlanger Mayor Tyson Hermes. “The winner is decided by a group of Erlanger business owners who volunteer their time. If you know someone who will be a high school senior next year, make sure they apply for this scholarship in March 2018."
