Film Shoot to Impact Traffic on Clay Wade Bailey Bridge

Hollywood will once again impact traffic around Covington.

The Clay Wade Bailey Bridge is expected to have intermittent traffic control from noon to 6 p.m. on Wednesday for a private filming session. That could have an impact on the evening rush hour commute during which the bridge is typically crowded with drivers returning to Covington or accessing I-75 from Cincinnati.

Chuck Eilerman, the former Covington city commission, reports that the film The Strangers 2 is in town shooting.

A production also disrupted traffic on Tuesday in West Covington.

The Strangers 2 is the sequel to the 2008 film The Strangers.

According to Variety, the new film  "will see (Christina) Hendricks, (Bailee) Madison, and (Lewis) Pullman as one family terrorized by three masked figures at an abandoned trailer park during a cross-country road trip gone wrong. Johannes Roberts (47 Meters Down) will direct based on a script by Strangers scribe Bryan Bertino and Ben Ketai."

The film started production last month in Los Angeles, according to multiple online reports.

In April and May, Covington and Newport, along with other sites around Cincinnati, were abuzz as The Old Man and the Gun shot a variety of scenes around the region. The film brought Hollywood heavyweights Robert Redford, Danny Glover, and Casey Affleck to town. See our photos from the Covington shoot here and the Newport shoot here.
