3 Local Attorneys are Finalists to Become Campbell Co. Judge
Three candidates have been named as finalists to replace Campbell County Family Court Judge Fred Stine, who is retiring.
The Judicial Nominating Commission, led by Kentucky Chief Justice John Minton, named local attorneys Joe Grimme, Jeffrey Sanders, and Dan Zalla as possible replacements.
The three will be considered by Governor Matt Bevin to fulfill Stine's term in Campbell County Circuit Court. Stine's term ends in December 2018.
All three candidates are from Ft. Thomas.
Fort Thomas Matters reported that others that sought the post include local attorneys Jim Kidney and Norb Gettys, as well as State Rep. Joe Fischer (R-Ft. Thomas), who ultimately withdrew from consideration on Friday.
Though Stine's term ends in December 2018, the judgeship is on the ballot earlier that year. If more than two candidates file to run for the job, there will be a primary in May 2018 with two candidates advancing to the general election in November for a chance to win a full 6-year term.
