So... What is Upstart? A Celebration of Entrepreneurship & Innovation in NKY

Most of you would agree that we want a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem in Northern Kentucky, right?

According to “the experts”, one of the key ingredients to creating this vibrant entrepreneur ecosystem is the celebration of entrepreneurship.

Back in 2013, a group of volunteers took this to heart and UpStart was created to celebrate entrepreneurship. The 2013 press release read, “[UpStart] will provide a gathering space for entrepreneurs needing to connect with local organizations who provide resources to startups. What began as a Leadership Northern Kentucky project called elinks, has transformed into a committee of passionate Northern Kentucky professionals whose goal is to help connect local resources to the entrepreneurs they serve.”

For the last four years, the UpStart format was tweaked annually to keep the event fresh, and this year is no different. Our fifth year is exciting as we are integrating events from both sides of the river and throwing in a Bourbon Trail Zone, but the event's foundation of “beer, bands, and food trucks” remains! UpStart is a free, volunteer-run event in a non-profit format.

The Northern Kentucky Innovation Network, in partnership with the Techstars Cincinnati Startup Week, is expanding the traditional end-of-day event with educational seminars that begin at 1 p.m.
