Report: Woman Accused of Killing Husband Says He Raped Her
The woman accused of killing her husband in their Verona home earlier this month says he raped her.
Debra Hiles, 36, told Kentucky State Police investigators that she tried to pull away from her husband when he wanted sex the night of his death. An hour later, according to testimony from Detective Dave Roberts, she pulled a gun and shot Robert Hiles seven times.
WKRC reported that Hiles told investigators that she had been molested as a child and did not want to go through it again.
A rape kit indicated some sexual trauma, Roberts said.
Hiles remains in the Carroll County Detention Center on $250,000 bond.
The couple's children are in state custody.
