Kentucky's Safest Cities: Where 6 NKY Cities Rank
The National Council for Home Safety and Security released its list of the safest cities in Kentucky for 2018.
The organization analyzed cities in the state with a population of 10,000 or higher, only.
It found Fort Thomas to be Kentucky's safest city and Independence to be the second-safest.
FBI statistics related to violent crimes and property crimes per one thousand people were used to create the list.
Six Northern Kentucky cities meet the criteria for analysis and three landed in the top ten of thirty-eight across the state.
Erlanger was ranked sixth.
Farther back, Covington came in at number 24, Florence was 28, and Newport ranked 35.
