PiAzza at Rivercenter, Horizon Announce Derby Party

PiAzza at RiverCenter, the newly branded front door to the RiverCenter towers in Covington, will host its first Rock for the Roses party celebrating the Kentucky Derby and benefiting the Horizon Community Funds of Northern Kentucky.

The event takes place Saturday, May 5, starting at 4 p.m. and will feature the race, live music, food and drinks, prizes, a hat contest, bourbon tasting, VIP party, and more.

“We are thrilled to bring this event to Northern Kentucky and look forward to bringing our community together for a day of fun to benefit Horizon Community Funds,” said Jeff Ritson, chief operating officer of PiAzza at RiverCenter. “We want people to dress in their favorite derby attire and hats to enjoy everything new at PiAzza and help support an organization that is working hard to make a difference in our community.”

Part of RiverCenter Boulevard will close to traffic so that guests can watch the Derby on several TVs spread out throughout the venue. Restaurants at PiAzza will sell food inside and outside. The restaurants include Fire, Biscuits to Burgers, and Butlers Pantry.

Live entertainment includes the Trailer Park Floosies and DJ Toad.

The VIP tent will feature a full dinner buffet and open bar catered by Fire.

The goal of Horizon’s Community Impact Fund is to connect the community to the needs across the region and use collective giving as a way to break the cycle of poverty, support the arts, enhance education, and build a successful future for Northern Kentucky.

There is no fee to enter the Rock for the Roses event. Guests can choose to mingle throughout the venue or enjoy the special VIP experience. Tickets for the VIP tent are $75 per person. A text-to-donate program will be available so guests can easily donate from their phones.
