Ryland Heights Man Dies Week After Crash on Porter Road
The man who crashed on Porter Road in Ryland Heights last week has died.
James Mardis, 40, of Ryland Heights, was driving a 1996 Suzuki DR350 on the westbound side of the 8900 block of Porter Road when the bike exited the roadway and struck a utility pole last Monday.
Kenton County Police said that the cause of the accident is unknown, and that Mardis was the only driver involved.
He died Sunday at University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
According to a GoFundMe page set up to raise money for Mardis's young son, Mardis was not found until the morning after his crash.
Doctors, the page stated, believed that Mardis would survive, but would have complications from brain injury.
On Saturday, his brain started to swell again.
He died Sunday afternoon.
Mardis's organs were donated, "in hopes that he is able to save someone else's life and a little part of him will continue to live on."
