Man Gets 52 Months for Possessing Semi-Automatic Pistols, Including One Stolen from Police

A man was sentenced to more than four years in federal prison for unlawful possession of firearms.

Kevin Sellers, 26, of Covington, was sentenced to 52 months behind bars by U.S. District Judge David Bunning.

Sellers pleaded guilty to possessing three firearms after being convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence.

Covington Police stopped Sellers on June 20, 2017, after receiving a complaint that he had threatened someone with a gun.

When officers stopped the vehicle, Sellers and three others were inside, and police found three semi-automatic pistols, including one that was capable of accepting a large capacity magazine and another that was later determined to have been stolen from a local police department.

Jack Deakins, 30, was also convicted of the same offense and sentenced to 30 months in federal prison on June 28.
