Listen: Ron Paul, Matt Bevin, Others to Lead Champions of Liberty in Covington
Former Congressman and presidential candidate Ron Paul (R-TX) will be in Covington next week to headline the 2018 Champions of Liberty Rally.
The event is produced by Align America, and is a sequel to the 2017 event sponsored by the Northern Kentucky Tea Party.
Paul will be joined by Governor Matt Bevin, Congressman Thomas Massie, and Lt. Gov. Jenean Hampton. Those Kentucky politicians will share the stage members of Congress from outside the state including Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), who could be the next Speaker of the House if Republicans retain control of it, and Rep. Warren Davidson (R-OH), who holds the seat once held by former Speaker of the House John Boehner.
Rep. Justin Amash (R-MI) may also attend.
Organizers described the event as a celebration of the announced politicians for demonstrating their commitment and character "to uphold the principles that make our country the greatest nation on earth."
The event is set for Friday, August 31, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center (1 RiverCenter Blvd., Covington). Tickets are $25, or $10 for students. Doors open at 6 p.m.
Tickets for a cocktail reception with the politicians are $500. That event will be held at the Metropolitan Club from 5 to 6:30 p.m. ahead of the main event.
