$10.9 Million to Address to I-75 Through Grant County
$10.9 million in funding from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will be used to improve north and southbound Interstate 75 through Grant County.
Walton-based Eaton Asphalt will handle the project which includes resurfacing, and drainage and base work.
“I-75 is vital to this region’s economy and accessibility,” said Bob Yeager, KYTC District 6 chief district engineer. “This project will make for a smoother, safer ride, as well as address several needs along the interstate corridor.”
Work will focus on I-75 northbound and southbound between milepoints 152 and 157.7, and include milling old asphalt, replacing the road base and resurfacing. The project will also address slide and drainage repairs. Signage along the I-75 corridor in Grant County will be updated.
Crews will perform similar work between milepoints 166 and 162.5.
Work will begin the week of Monday, October 22. During the project, there will be single lane closures. Double lane closures may be in place from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m.
The project has an overall completion date of June 2019.
