Scott, Bishop Brossart Win Girls Cross Country State Titles
Bishop Brossart and Scott brought home state titles in Kentucky girls cross country on Saturday.
Brossart won the Class 1A championship, while Scott was tops in Class 2A.
The Mustangs totaled 107 in the state title race, enough to finish ahead of second place Lexington Christian (185) and third-place Walton-Verona (188).
In other local Class 1A results, St. Henry finished sixth (227), Villa Madonna finished seventh (229), Beechwood finished ninth (281), Owen Co. finished thirteenth (314), and Bracken County finished twenty-fourth (610).
In individual results, Allison Bourne of Owen County led Northern Kentucky participants with a fourth-place finish. Destiny Goodrich, of Owen Co., finished seventh, while Ashley Akins, of Walton-Verona, finished eighth.
In Class 2A, Scott won the title with a score of 106, enough to hold off second-place Highlands (115).
Highlands's Maggie Schroeder won the race and was joined in the top-ten by fellow Bluebird Alyssa Harris, who finished ninth. Dyllan Harris led Scott with a sixth-place finish.
