Arrest Made in Covington Shooting Death

A man is now in police custody two months after a deadly shooting in Covington.

Covington Police announced Monday that Kendal McBride was arrested early this morning in Anderson Township, Oh.

McBride, 25, is a suspect in the shooting death of Malachi Rice, 19, who was killed near the 1800 block of Euclid Avenue in Covington on November 12.

The day after Christmas, a warrant was issued for McBride's arrest.

Police said that they believed he would be in Ohio.

McBride was in a vehicle stopped by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office early Monday morning. McBride was identified as a passenger in the car.

He is now being held at the Hamilton County Detention Center where he awaits extradition to Kentucky to face a murder charge.
