Photos: NKU Pulls Away in Second, Wins Seventeenth Straight Home Game

Northern Kentucky used a strong second half to pull away from Milwaukee and win its seventeenth straight game at BB&T Arena in Highland Heights.

Drew McDonald and Jalen Tate helped the Norse overcome a four-point halftime deficit. NKU outscored Milwaukee 18-2 to start the second half to take a 48-36 lead.

The Norse won 73-60.

McDonald scored 30 points to go along with 13 rebounds while Tate scored 13 and picked up 10 rebounds. 

Dantez Walton added 12 points while Tyle Sharpe put in 10.

Northern Kentucky improved to 18-4 overall and 8-1 in the Horizon League with the win over Milwaukee (9-13, 4-5).

Next up for the Norse is a Friday night trip to IUPUI. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.

NKU Women beat Oakland

The NKU women's team beat Oakland on Sunday afternoon, 72-50. 

The Norse are now 5-14 on the season and 4-5 in the Horizon League.

Ally Niece led Northern Kentucky with 17 points. Molly Glick added 16 and Emmy Souder put in 10.

NKU hosts IUPUI on Thursday at BB&T Arena. Tipoff is 7 p.m.
