Rough Weekend for NKU, Now Riding Two-Game Skid
Northern Kentucky dropped two straight games over the weekend, falling on Friday to IUPUI, 83-77, and losing again on Sunday to UIC, 69-67.
The UIC Flames nailed a three with just over two seconds to play to seal the victory over the Norse.
NKU falls to 18-6 overall and 8-3 in the Horizon League.
Tyler Sharpe led the Norse on Sunday with 20 points while Drew McDonald added 18 points and 9 rebounds. McDonald now has 999 rebounds in his career as a Norse. When he surpasses 1,000, the Newport Central Catholic grad will become one of just six players in the Horizon League's history to achieve that feat.
Jalen Tate scored 12 to go along with four rebounds and three assists.
NKU shot under 42 percent from the field for the game.
The Norse take to the court again on Thursday, Feb. 7 at BB&T Arena against Detroit Mercy. Homecoming is set for Saturday, with another home match-up against Oakland at 7 p.m.
