Thomas More Women Win 12th Straight Conference Title, Await NCAA Draw
Thomas More won the American Collegiate Athletic Association title in Alfred, N.Y. on Sunday, defeating third-seeded Valley Forge, 92-47.
The Saints are now 27-0 on the season and will find out on Monday where they will play in the NCAA Division III women's basketball tournament.
Thomas More rocked Valley Forge early, running up the scoreboard to lead 31-5 after one quarter, and 48-12 at the half.
Madison Temple led the Saints with 21 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists.
Aysah Mitchell added 14 and Shelby Rupp scored 13.
The ACAA title does not result in an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The Saints will have to earn an at-large bid.
The NCAA will announce the tournament field and the brackets for the championship tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. with a selection show on www.ncaa.com.
