Thomas More to Host First Two Rounds of NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament
The Thomas More women's basketball team will host the first and second rounds of the NCAA Division III national tournament on Friday and Saturday, March 1-2 at the Conor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills.
The Saints (27-0) won the American Collegiate Athletic Association tournament on Sunday, but the conference title does not come with an automatic bid to the national tournament.
On Monday, the #1-ranked Saints learned that they received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament and will host the first two rounds.
#7-ranked Trine (25-2), champions of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association, will play Emory (19-6), which finished third in the University Athletic Association and received an at-large bid. That game is first on Friday.
Also on Friday, Thomas More will play Saint Vincent (23-4). The Bearcats won the Presidents' Athletic Conference championship and an automatic bid.
On Saturday, the winners of those two games will play each other.
