Emilio Estevez to Appear at Newport Showing of "The Public"
Actor, writer, and director Emilio Estevez will be in Newport on Saturday for a showing of his latest film, The Public.
The movie was shot and takes place in the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County and tells the story of a group of homeless people taking over the establishment on a cold winter night when all the shelters are full.
The movie opens this weekend.
On Saturday, Estevez will join movie-goers for a screening at AMC Newport on the Levee. Showtime is 7:15 p.m. Estevez, who wrote, directed, and appears in The Public, will then participate in a question and answer session afterwards.
He will also join showings of the film in Columbus and Dayton on Sunday.
“We are excited that Emilio is coming back to Ohio to promote his movie, a week after its Cincinnati screening,” said Kristen Schlotman, executive director of Film Cincinnati. “For those who were unable to attend the sold-out premiere, this is a great way to see “The Public” and to hear from the director himself about the making of the movie right here in Cincinnati.”
Tickets to the screenings and Q and A sessions at all three theaters are limited and can be purchased at www.ThePublicFilm.com. The Public opens nationwide on Friday, April 5.
