Jockey Killed in Florence Crash
The man killed in a Monday morning crash in Florence was identified as race horse jockey Euclyn "Pede" Prentice.
The jockey was scheduled to race on Monday at Belterra Park in Cincinnati.
According to reports, Prentice's car crashed into a TANK bus at Houston and Hansel roads.
Prentice, 28, died while the driver and passenger aboard the bus were unharmed.
The jockey was a native of St. Croiz in the U.S. Virgin Islands. He won his first race in 2015.
Paulick Report noted that Prentice won 256 races in 2,580 starts for mount earnings of $3,397,464. His last victory was nine days ago at Indiana Grand.
