Norse Sign Junior College Transfer
Bryson Langdon, a guard from Arizona Western College, has signed with the Northern Kentucky men’s basketball team, NKU head coach Darrin Horn announced on Wednesday.
“We are excited to get a proven producer and winner of Bryson’s caliber committed this late,” said Horn. “He fills an important need for more ball handling and brings us an added dimension of quickness at the point guard position. He not only shoots a high percentage from three, but can shoot with range and will be able to push tempo for us in transition.”
The 5-foot-9 Langdon averaged 16.3 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game as a freshman last season, while leading the Matadors to a 25-9 overall mark and the first round of the NJCAA Men’s Basketball Championship.
Langdon converted 46.3 percent of his field-goal attempts, including 40.2 percent from 3-point territory. He started 30-of-34 games for AWC, reaching double figures in the scoring column 29 times. Langdon’s penchant for explosive scoring outbursts was on full display as the native of Chicago posted 20-or-more points 11 times, including a career-high 33 against Tohono O’odham in which he converted 12-of-14 shots and 7-of-8 from long range.
Langdon joins Adham Eleeda and John Harge as newcomers for NKU, both of whom joined the Norse in early June.
Northern Kentucky has won at least a share of the last two Horizon League Regular-Season Championships and two of the last three Horizon League Tournaments, participating in two NCAA Tournaments and the NIT in the last three years.
