Edgewood Names New Police Chief

Edgewood's new police chief is Brian Zurborg, who was promoted from his role as lieutenant.

He replaces Tony Kramer, who is retiring.

Zurborg will be sworn in on August 5.

In other business, Councilman Joe Messmer said he is frequently asked by residents about construction on Dudley Road.

City Administrator Brian Dehner said that he has also been getting phone calls. The project is slowed by the acquisition of easements, Dehner said.

Dehner said that the project has been frustrating and he was to meet this week with engineers working on the project for an update. He said he would provide a written report to council members, and then invite the lead engineer to next month's city council meeting.

Mayor John Link said the Fourth of July activities will be held beginning with the 5K race at 7:30 a.m., followed by the parade at 9:30 a.m. and a concert at 7 p.m. culminating with fireworks at dusk.

In the case of rain, the fireworks will be held on July 5.
