Annual CBC Dinner to Honor Cooper, Feature Bourbon Tour with Wellmann
The Covington Business Council will honor Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce president and CEO Brent Cooper at its annual dinner on August 8.
Cooper is the founder of Covington-based C-Forward, an information technology firm on Madison Avenue.
Each year, the CBC bestows its Founders Award at the annual dinner. Cooper is this year's recipient.
Cooper is also one of the lead organizers of the upcoming Kentucky's Edge Bourbon Conference and Festival, set for October in Covington and Newport, and expected to draw a large crowd to the region.
In that spirit, the CBC is also welcoming famed Cincinnati bar owner and "mixologist" Molly Wellmann, who will serve as mistress of ceremonies and lead dinner attendees on a tour and taste of bourbon and the impact it has on the region.
“We are incredibly excited to have Molly Wellman be our tour guide for the important role Covington and all of Northern Kentucky is playing in this phenomenon,” said CBC Executive Director Pat Frew. “For those who have attended the annual dinner in the past you realize this is essentially a big party—a chance for business leaders to renew acquaintances and have a great time.
"Given the importance being placed currently on Kentucky’s signature adult beverage, we thought taking more of a casual approach to content was in order for this year’s program. This will be a fun night that you won’t want to miss.”
The annual dinner is set for Thursday, August 8, at the Madison Event Center and will begin with cocktail Hour at 5:30 with dinner and program running from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.
