Newport Schools Offering Summer Meal Program for Kids
Free meals will be available for children in the city of Newport through August 1.
The Newport Independent School District announced its summer meal program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Free breakfasts and lunches will be available to any child under 18 years of age on weekdays at Newport Primary School for the next four weeks.
“Many of our students and families rely on nutritious meals served in our schools throughout the school year,” said Newport Independent Schools Food Service Director Lisa Rizzo. “Our summer meal program is an effort to continue good nutrition on a year-round basis to those students who may not receive it otherwise.”
No registration or application is required. Meals will be provided free of charge.
