Four NKY Nonprofits Receive Grants from Horizon Community Funds
Horizon Community Funds of Northern Kentucky announced the first grant recipients awarded through its Community Impact Fund. Four nonprofits serving Northern Kentucky will receive their full grant requests, for a total of nearly $50,000.
The following nonprofits have been funded for the 2019 round:
- DCCH Center for Children and Families ($10,000): Targeted Case Management Services to Keep Low-Income, At-Risk Children with Their Families
- Kenton County Public Library ($14,700): Ready to Code
- Legal Aid of the Bluegrass ($15,000): Project HOPE (Housing Opportunities for People Everywhere)
- Rose Garden Center for Hope and Healing ($9,500): Hope for Hispanic Health
“We are continually looking for ways to further serve children and families in need. Targeted Case Management fits nicely within our continuum of services and mission. We are grateful to Horizon Community Funds for providing the resources to get this exciting program up and running," said Bob Wilson, executive director at DCCH Center for Children and Families.
Horizon Community Funds received 80 letters of interest from a broad range of community organizations for its inaugural grant cycle.
“We are pleased to announce awards to these four high impact programs,” said Council of Trustee member Jim Votruba. “The grant review process included a special emphasis on proposals that emphasized innovation, acceleration, and leveraging with other community resources.”
“We believe our community will be stronger, more caring and inclusive, and better able to support bright futures for all as a result of these investments. This is why Horizon Community Funds exists.”
The next round of Community Impact Fund grants will be available in early 2020.
“Northern Kentuckians can come together for the common good through our Community Impact Fund,” said Horizon Community Funds President Nancy Grayson. "Through this fund, gifts of all sizes are multiplied to serve our community’s ever-changing needs and create lasting, positive impact."
