Traffic Updates: Dixie Highway, Beechwood Road, Alexandria Pike
This article has been updated after the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 6 Office made a correction to its initial news release.
Local traffic will be impacted by a trio of projects taking place in the coming days.
A pavement project begins Tuesday night and lasts through Friday on Dixie Highway between Sleepy Hollow Road and Orphanage Road in Ft. Mitchell. There will be nightly lane closures from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Milling and paving will be scheduled at a later date, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet - District 6 office said.
Meanwhile, with utility work complete, construction on a turn lane from Dixie Highway to Beechwood Road in Ft. Mitchell is set to begin. Beechwood Road will be closed at the Dixie Highway intersection from July 22 through July 31.
In Southgate, a pavement project is in progress at the Alexandria Pike (US 27)/I-471 interchange. There will be lane closures and weekend ramp closures, KYTC said.
Starting Wednesday, there will be a traffic shift from the current configuration, which has all traffic on the southbound side, to the northbound lanes.
One lane will be used for northbound travel while one lane will be a center turn lane, and another lane will be used for southbound travel.
This starts at 6 a.m. and should be in place by 8 p.m.
Moock Road will also be closed at Alexandria Pike at a later date, KYTC said.
Message boards will be in place to direct and inform motorists.
