Campbell Detention Center Employee Killed in Crash
A Campbell County Detention Center employee was killed in a car crash in Tennessee earlier this week.
Major Gracy Nagel died when traveling home from a vacation with her family on Interstate 40.
Six vehicles were involved in the deadly crash on Sunday morning, WBBJ reported.
Ten people were injured.
The Campbell County Detention Center announced Nagel's death in a Facebook post and stated that Gracy's husband and son suffered non-life threatening injuries. Her daughter was not hurt.
Nagel joined the jail staff in 1997, rising from deputy to major, and also previously served as a detective there.
"Gracy had infinite knowledge of the working of our detention center and of many aspects that will be difficult if not impossible to replace," the jail said. "More importantly, Gracy served as a confidant, a friend, and a go-to person for all. Gracy will be missed for each of these things but most importantly for her smile and the love and care she had and gave to her family and to each of her Campbell County family."
Nagel lived in Wilder.
Memorial service details have not yet been made public.
