British Adventurer to Bring World Record Attempt to DHL CVG
British adventurer James Ketchell is attempting to make aviation history by becoming the first person to circumnavigate the globe solo in an open-cockpit gyrocopter.
As part Ketchell’s U.S. route, in which he will land in over 66 cities, he will be stopping at the DHL CVG hub.
DHL Express is supporting the world record-setting flight along his nearly 23,000-nautical-mile trip into the history books.
Ketchell's journey, which began in England on March 31, may take up to one year before his final return to the country. Stops include numerous speaking events at schools and visits to several DHL hubs around the world, including CVG.
If successful, the gyrocopter will be the last type of aircraft in existence to complete a global circumnavigation.
Ketchell is a serial adventurer and the only person to have achieved the triple feats of rowing the Atlantic, climbing Mount Everest, and circumnavigating the globe on a bicycle.
He arrives at DHL CVG on Monday.
