Suspect in Covington Store Robbery is Shot in Cincinnati

The man accused in multiple robberies in Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati was shot by police in Green Township, Ohio on Wednesday.

Covington Police spokesperson Captain Brian Valenti confirmed to The River City News that the man shot in Green Township is Robert Schneider, 36, who was accused of robbing Kimmy's Korner Grocery in Covington's Mainstrasse Village on Monday afternoon.

At Kimmy's, Schneider was accused of holding up the store at gunpoint and making off with cash and a wallet.

He was also suspected in other area robberies, and according to police in Ohio, who spoke to the media after the shooting, had robbed a Marathon gas station in White Oak before fleeing police in a vehicle which he later abandoned, leading police on a foot chase that ended in gunfire when Schneider brandished a weapon.

Schneider's condition is currently unknown.
