Ludlow Historic Society Announces Preservation Award Winners
The winners at the 8th annual Ludlow Preservation Awards have been announced.
The ceremony is set for Saturday, August 17, as part of Ludlow Railroad Heritage Day.
The Preservation Award Program will be held at 1:00 p.m at the Ludlow Municipal Center (51 Elm Street).
"This annual awards ceremony acknowledges outstanding preservation projects and the efforts of citizens working to rehabilitate and restore our historic buildings," said Andy Corn, board member of the Ludlow Historic Society. “Ludlow has wonderful historic assets and we want to celebrate these buildings and especially the owners who help us preserve them, which in turn preserves the character of our city.”
The following are Ludlow’s 2019 award winners:
Creekmore Building: 218 Elm Street
Lyon Residence: 223 Elm Street
Knight Residence: 430 Elm Street
Williams Residence: 232 Elm Street
On-street parking is available on nearby streets. Light refreshments will be served during the Award Program. There will be several railroad-themed programs, educational displays, food, drink, and music at the concurrent Ludlow Railroad Heritage Day event, running from 11:00-4:00 that day. The new Ludlow Railroad Overlook Tower will be open during the event.
