Special Statehouse Election in NKY Will Take Place Nov. 5
The election fill the state legislative seat vacated by Republican Diane St. Onge was set by Governor Matt Bevin on Tuesday.
The special election will take place on the same day as the statewide general election, November 5.
St. Onge resigned her seat as state representative for House District 63, effective Monday, noting in a letter to the governor that she is leaving for California in the fall, "but I will be keeping my home in Northern Kentucky, as I have every intention of returning here to live and to work," she wrote.
St. Onge also applauded the governor for "all the good you have accomplished."
The local Democratic and Republican party executive committees will nominate their candidates for the special election.
The district encompasses parts of northwestern Kenton and northeastern Boone counties.and includes parts of the cities of Fort Wright, Villa Hills, Edgewood, and others.
