Woman Jailed After Taylor Mill Bank is Robbed
A woman was arrested Saturday morning and accused of robbing a Taylor Mill Bank.
Tamara Jan Thompson, 45, is in the Kenton County Detention Center where she is charged with first degree robbery.
Taylor Mill Police said that Thompson entered the 5/3 Bank branch in the city and gave a note to the teller. That noted ordered the teller to keep her hands visible and to give Thompson cash without a dye pack, police said.
The teller complied and Thompson is then accused of fleeing on foot to a wooded area behind the bank.
Taylor Mill Police Officer Patrick Reis was dispatched to the bank but, according to a news release from the police department, "he had the wherewithal to redirect his response to Redbud Drive, the street that runs directly behind the bank on the other side of the woods."
There, police said, Reis spotted Thompson exiting the woods, pushing a bike and wearing a backpack.
The accused had a large amount of cash and a change of clothes in the backpack, police said.
Thompson was later identified by bank employees, police said, and later, Thompson confessed.
Thompson, of Independence, is scheduled to be arraigned in Kenton District Court on Monday morning.
