Woman Charged with Manslaughter After 1-Year Old's Death in Dayton
A woman faces a first degree manslaughter charge after the death of a 1-year old child in Dayton.
Dayton Police announced on Friday that the department arrested Stacey Schuchart, 29, in relation to the child's death in August.
The Bellevue-Dayton Fire Department responded to 401 Fifth Avenue on August 16 for a report of an unresponsive child. That's where responders found 1-year old Sean Buttery, Jr. not breathing.
He was transported to Cincinnati Children's Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Since then, the police department investigated the 17-month old's death and ultimately charged Schuchart.
The department did not release further details about what happened that day or why Schuchart was charged. The department directed further questions to Campbell County Commonwealth's Attorney Michelle Snodgrass. The River City News has requested further information.
Schuchart is being held at the Campbell County Detention Center on $1 million bond. She is expected to be arraigned in Campbell District Court next week.
