3 Notre Dame Students Named National Merit Semifinalists
Three students from Notre Dame Academy are among the local students named as National Merit Scholarship Program semifinalists.
Seniors Maddie Prospero, Laura Neltner, and Becky Hammill have all earned the distinction.
To become finalists in the National Merit Scholarship Program these students must now submit scholarship applications that include information about their academic records, co-curricular activities, leadership abilities, honors, awards and employment. By doing so, they will have the opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,600 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $31 million that will be offered next spring.
"We are very proud of these three NDA students and their selection as National Merit Semifinalists," said Jack VonHandorf, principal at Notre Dame Academy. "This achievement is a testament to their hard work and dedication, the commitment and diligence of our faculty, and the excellent Catholic education our students receive at NDA. We congratulate these young women and their families as we celebrate this honor."
