Haunted House Attraction Opens in Dayton
A new haunted house opened for the Halloween season in Dayton.
Located at the Dayton Civic Center (625 Second Avenue), The Dead End was created by Trav Brewer, Mark Donelan, and Russell Ashcraft. The trio said that a local fundraiser back in 2001, and a love for Halloween and horror brought the three together to launch the concept.
“It seems that it would be easy to just jump out and scare people,” said Brewer. “But it’s really a lot more than that. First you have to find the right place to do it. You have to fund supplies, and recruit volunteers who have a real passion for Halloween.”
The guys said they have been setting up the civic center since August.
Admission is $10 and half of the proceeds will be returned to the civic club, a news release said.
Since August of this year, the group has been setting up in the Dayton’s Civic Center. Half the proceeds will go back to the Dayton Civic Club.
It opens Thursday and will run until November, Thursdays from 7 to 11 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays from 7 p.m. to midnight.
