Man Arrested for Threat to Beechwood
Ft. Mitchell Police on Friday announced the arrest of a Ft. Wright man after report of a threat to Beechwood Independent Schools.
Thomas Lowell, 19, was arrested by Ft. Mitchell and Ft. Wright Police and charged with second degree terroristic threatening.
Police said that Beechwood, a school district located in Ft. Mitchell, received a threat via Facebook Messenger, in the overnight hours of Thursday. When staff members saw the message, they contacted the city's police department.
Within a few hours, police said, Lommel was located at his Ft. Wright home and arrested without incident.
Police said that no weapons were found and said there was no evidence that Lommel had the means to carry out his threat or that he took any steps to do so. The nature of the threat was not disclosed Friday afternoon.
Lommel is being held at the Kenton County Detention Center on $2,500 bond.
Beechwood Schools are currently on fall break, so classes were not impacted.
