Lindsey Wilson Piles It On in 4th Quarter to Put Away Thomas More on Homecoming
Thomas More's homecoming on Saturday was spoiled by the visiting Lindsey Wilson, the NAIA's 9th-ranked team, 55 to 21.
With the loss at BB&T Field in Crestview Hills, the Saints fell to 3-4 on the season and 1-2 in the Mid-South Conference.
Thomas More fell behind early, with Lindsey Wilson rolling to a 14-0 lead with just over nine minutes left in the first quarter.
By the end of the first, the Saints trailed 20-7.
Lindsey Wilson would extend its lead at halftime, 34-14.
In the second half, Thomas More cut its deficit when senior wide receive/return specialist Da'marco Canty returned a punt 54 yards for a touchdown, and sophomore kicker Alexander put the extra point through. That score put the Saints down 24-21.
But it would be as close as Thomas More would get to the Blue Raiders.
Lindsey Wilson piled it on in the fourth quarter, adding three more touchdowns and winning the game, 55-21.
Thomas More is back in action at Georgetown next Saturday.
