Shickel's Pickle Feast Raises $6,000 for Special Olympics
State Senator John Schickel's annual Pickle Feast raised $6,000 for Northern Kentucky Special Olympics.
The Union Republican presented a check to the organization.
“This year’s event was a huge success thanks to our generous contributors and we are happy to make this donation to such a worthy charity”, said event chair Barb Keeling.
The Pickle Feast was held this year at Verona Vineyards on September 6 and has become a Republican tradition statewide.
With a menu of pickles, wieners, and country music, the senator's event has become a must-attend for Republican candidates across the state as well as Republican voters.
This year Governor Matt Bevin and Lt. Governor candidate, Dr. Ralph Alvarado, a state senator, and Congressman Thomas Massie were the keynote speakers.
The entire Republican statewide ticket attended, including candidates for Attorney General, Daniel Cameron, Secretary of State, David Adams, and Auditor, Mike Harmon.
“We had a fun time. It is great to see everyone and celebrate our common values with good food and music,” said Schickel.
