Teens Arrested After Union Burglary, One Deputy Injured
Three teens were arrested Sunday morning in Union on burglary charges, the Boone County Sheriff's Office announced.
Deputies were dispatched to the 10600 block of Secretariat Run after receiving a report of a burglary.
Three suspects were identified and one deputy was injured while pursuing a suspect on foot, the sheriff's office said.
Jacob Scudder, 18, of Ludlow, and a 16-year old boy from Erlanger and 17-year old boy from Elsmere were arrested.
According to the sheriff's office, Scudder was staying at a Motel 6 in Richwood with the two boys. Deputies were dispatched there for a disturbance call. While a deputy was finalizing a report at Secretariat Run, where the homeowners were inside sleeping at the time of the burglary, he suspected that the burglary and motel calls were related.
Deputies compared surveillance video of the burglary to the suspects at the Motel 6. Scudder fled on foot and was pursued by a deputy, who fell and broke his clavicle.
Scudder also fell and suffered facial injuries.
Scudder was charged with second degree burglary, first degree fleeing or evading, second degree unlawful transaction with a minor, and theft by unlawful taking from an auto (under $500). He is being held in the Boone County Detention Center.

Deputies also learned that multiple vehicles were broken into on Secretariat Run and investigators are attempting to identify the owners of the property recovered.
