Jolly's 31 Helps Thomas More Stay Unbeaten

Reid Jolly scored 31 points to help Thomas More (8-0) roll over Akron-Wayne (2-4), 84-54, in the final game of the Coach Connor Classic at the Connor Convocation Center in Crestview Hills on Saturday.

Jolly's point total marks only the sixth time since 1990 that a Saint scored at least 30 points in a game.

The first-year forward from Campbell County High School scored six points in the first four minutes, helping to push Thomas More to a 10-0 lead. Jolly then scored the Saints' next 12 points as TMU ran up the score to 22-6 with 10:32 to play in the first half.

By halftime, the Saints led 50-25.

23 of Jolly's 31 points came in the first half.

His hot shooting continued in the second half, too, when he scored Thomas More's first six points. The Saints led 56-27 with 18:28 to play.

Garren Bertsch, another Campbell County product, added 14 for THomas More while Luke Rudy scored 10.

The Saints are off until Tuesday, December 3 when Mid-South Conference play begins. Thomas More travels #16 University of the Cumberlands for an 8 p.m. tip-off.
