Our Lady of Lourdes to Host Christkindlmarket on Saturday
Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Park Hills hosts Christkindlmarket on Saturday from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m.
The craft show is also an opportunity for friends to gather at the church, located at 1101 Amsterdam Road.
"It started out smaller last year, but we expect more people to be here this year," said Jessica Martin, one of the organizers for the event. "We started this as an option for young people to be able to shop for their mom and dad, or their siblings, and everyone likes the idea of hand made gifts, so this has grown in popularity."
Several tables will be laden with the home made one-of-a-kind treasures, and other tables will have vintage items that are new to other people.
Martin said there will be some booths with homemade sourdough bread, and others with hand made soaps. Some people bring knitted or crocheted items they have been working on, or jewelry that they have created. There will be ornaments, dolls, etched glass, and much more.
"We will have mulled wine, which we think helps it to be a special occasion," said Martin.
The sale will be at the undercroft of the church, and there is no admission fee. Parking is available at the side of the church.
"Just come and see what we have," said Martin. "You might find some real treasures, some things you might have been looking for as the perfect gift for someone. And along the way it is just a fun, delightful journey!"
