Kenton Library Honored for Work with Local Parks and Recreation Departments
The Kenton County Public Library was honored recently by the Kentucky Recreation and Park Society at the organization's annual state conference and trade show at Lake Barkley Resort Park.
The society is a state affiliate of the National Recreation and Park Association.
The Special Citation award recognizes individuals, private industry, or agencies that have given outstanding help or aid in the field of recreation or leisure time pursuits.
The Kenton County Public Library was recognized for its collaboration with four parks and recreation departments: the City of Covington, the City of Erlanger, the City of Independence, and Kenton County.
"For the past 20 years this partnership has allowed all participating departments to meet programming goals and is mutually beneficial for all. The library is an advocate for the parks and recreation departments in Kenton County – promoting events, attending park programs and enhancing the quality of life for the citizens of the community," the society said in a news release.
"We congratulate Kenton County Library and their staff as well as the parks and recreation departments that have worked together to further the pursuit of the quality of life and investing in the citizens of their communities."
