Photos: NKU Beats Illinois State, 79-64

Northern Kentucky put away Illinois State on Sunday afternoon in men's basketball action at BB&T Arena in Highland Heights.

Tyler Sharpe exploded on offense for the Norse, scoring 30 points, including five hits from three-point range.

Dantez Walton added 19 for NKU.

The Norse led for much of the game, pulling out to a 7-point lead at the end of the first half, 43-36.

With fourteen minutes left to play in the game, Northern Kentucky scored 13 unanswered points to pull away by 18.

The Norse have shot better than 50 percent from the field in each of their last five games.

Northern Kentucky (8-3) visits UNC-Greensboro (8-3) on Saturday for a 7 p.m. tip-off.

Horizon League play starts for NKU on the following Saturday, December 28, when Milwaukee visits Highland Heights.
