2016 Grad Named Track Coach at Newport Central Catholic

Newport Central Catholic High School announced the hiring of a 2016 graduate as its new boys track coach.

Brian Anderson takes over as head coach in the spring of 2021.

He ran cross country and track for the Thoroughbreds and at Bellarmine University in Louisville.

After graduating from Bellarmine earlier this year, he began working as a lead coordinator at Omega Technology.

“It has always been a dream of mine to come back and coach track and field at Newport Central Catholic," Anderson said. "I am very thankful to Newport Central Catholic for giving me the opportunity to help young men find success and love for track & field.”

“We are extremely excited to welcome an alum in Brian back to lead the boys track team," said New Cath Athletic Director Jeff Schulkens. "Brian worked hard to be the best when he played sports here and I am sure he will do the same in leading the track team."

At New Cath, Anderson also competed in soccer and basketball.
