Duke Energy Work to Disrupt Traffic in Kenton, Boone Counties
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) announced Sunday two road projects that will disrupt traffic flow this week.
A rolling road block on I-275 in Kenton County is planned and traffic will be temporarily slowed and possibly stopped, KYTC said.
Duke Energy is pulling wires across the interstate between Turkeyfoot Road and Madison Pike to upgrade the utility's facilities.
The work is scheduled for early on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings, December 15 through December 17 between the hours of 1 a.m. and 4 a.m.
Duke Energy crews will be on site Monday night, December 14, to begin work.
Kenton County Sheriff’s Department and the Kentucky State Police will assist with traffic control.
Intermittent traffic stoppages not exceeding 15 minutes at a time will occur in each direction of the interstate.
Meanwhile, Aero Parkway (KY 1017) will be closed to traffic so that Duke Energy can update its utilities there.
The work starts Wednesday at 11 p.m. and will last until 5 a.m. Thursday.
A detour will be in place using KY 18 to Houston Road to Ted Bushelman Blvd.
The date and duration of this work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.
