Beshear Appoints NKU Professor, Hebron Resident to Early Childhood Advisory Council
Governor Andy Beshear announced the appointment of twenty-one people to the state Early Childhood Advisory Council.
The council offers expertise and experience to provide leadership, direction, and support to serving the children, families, and communities in Kentucky, according to its website. It is part of the Governor's Office of Early Childhood.
Among the 21 new appointees is Northern Kentucky University professor of early childhood education Jaesook Gilbert, of Hebron, who is to represent higher education on the council.
During each of its quarterly meetings, the advisory council advises on the early care and education system, provides progress updates on the 5-year strategic plan, and facilitates collective commitment to increase access and opportunity for children across the state.
Gilbert's term runs through June 30 of this year.
