NKY Chamber Now Accepting Nominations for 2021 Leadership Northern Kentucky Class
The Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce is now accepting nominations for the Leadership Northern Kentucky (Leadership NKY) Class of 2022. This marks the 43rd year of the program, which started in 1969.
Leadership NKY is a nine-month program designed to help develop business and community leaders by utilizing the community as a classroom to help participants gain an understanding of the strengths and challenges of the Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati area, and the skills necessary to motivate and engage others in collaborative efforts to address them.
“Leadership Northern Kentucky is the most fulfilling professional experience I've ever had,” said Mark Collier, Leadership NKY Class of 2020 president and owner/publisher of Living Media and Fort Thomas Matters. “The relationships I've built with my classmates and session leaders, coupled with the intense exposure to our region has made me a better leader, problem solver and empathetic collaborator. I can't imagine a more meaningful experience as a business leader in Northern Kentucky than Leadership NKY.”
Leadership NKY participants are selected from a variety of job sectors and civic interests. Each cohort is provided substantive education by industry leaders across a diverse range of topics, including economic development, education, government and inclusive leadership. More than 1,400 alumni have come together through the Leadership NKY program to make a difference in the community.
Along with a completed application, interested individuals are asked to submit two references and must have full support of the company/organization they represent, as well as their employer or supervisor. Individuals may nominate themselves or be nominated by someone else. Tuition is $3,000 for NKY Chamber members and $3,500 for future NKY Chamber members. A maximum of 50 applications will be selected.
Stacie Strotman, who graduated from the program in 2009, will chair the Class of 2022.
“Leadership Northern Kentucky has proven to be a life-changing experience both professionally and personally,” said Strotman, Executive Director of Covington Partners. “The unique opportunity for deep learning with 50 leaders from across NKY has strengthened my commitment to the work still to be done, and the role I play in making NKY a better place to live, learn and grow. I’m excited to chair the Class of 2022 and I am looking forward to what this class will accomplish for years to come.”
Completed applications must be submitted no later than Friday, May 28, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. Organizers will announce the Class of 2022 in July, and sessions will run August 2021 through May 2022.
