Erlanger Logistics Firm Wins Homeland Security Award
Erlanger-based IPS Logistix was awarded the Homeland Security Investigation (HSI) 2020 Outstanding Partnership Award.
The award is presented to companies for exemplary partnership in the furtherance of public safety, a news release said.
According to the announcement, IPS Logistix CEO Darrel Lyell initiated a strategic partnership last year with HSI to ensure that the company is not participating in the shipment of illegal goods out of the U.S.
Vice President of Operations Whitney Lyell's alerted HSI to twenty suspicious shipments during the last fiscal year, which gave HSI NKY the ability to develop these shipment alerts into multiple leads and controlled deliveries on a variety of weapon components that were being exported to numerous countries, a news release said.
The award was presented by Section Chief, H. Ray Shulter and the local CVG HSI team.
“IPS Logistix has developed an exceptional reputation in all domestic and international markets we operate in,” said Darrel Lyell. “This award is a key example of IPS Logistix’s commitment to secure and thorough services we provide our customers, in which we can give them peace of mind.”
Meanwhile, IPS Logistix is expanding throughout the country with an east coast operation in New Jersey and a west coast operation in the works.
HSI is the principal investigative arm of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, responsible for investigating transnational crime and threats, specifically those criminal organizations that exploit the global infrastructure through which international trade, travel, and finance move.
IPS Logistix partners with domestic and international clients to distribute products.
